Hi, I’m Lucinda Hinckfuss

I am a Psychologist working with children, adolescents, young adults, and parents in Brisbane and via telehealth.

In 2026, I offer appointments from Tuesday to Friday across two separate locations in Brisbane’s inner city. I am now accepting new clients and for those looking to book an initial consult please see my bookings page.

My Qualifications

My Experience

I completed my Bachelor (Honours) of Psychological Science at the University of Queensland and my Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Tasmania.

I have formerly worked as a school psychologist for the Department of Education in Tasmania helping parents and teachers organise personalised therapy and learning plans for students. Now I work with families and young adults in private practice to help them achieve their goals.

How we can work together

I have training in a range of different therapeutic modalities and draw on techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solutions Focused Therapy (SFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

However, my main focus is on developing strong therapeutic relationships and creating a safe space for clients to explore their issues. I am particularly passionate about creating the right therapy approach to suit each individual client’s unique needs and goals

My background

I have a particular passion for working with neurodiverse individuals. As someone who is neurodivergent myself, I bring both clinical expertise and a lived understanding to this work, which helps me connect with clients in a meaningful and compassionate way.

However, I welcome clients from all backgrounds, cultures, genders and sexual orientations. Whether you are seeking support for long-standing concerns or simply looking for a safe, non-judgmental space to reflect and check in, I tailor therapy to meet your unique needs and goals.

Getting Started

Getting started with therapy can feel like a daunting process, particularly if it is your first time.

Am I ready to start therapy?

Am I overreacting?

Can anyone help me?

These may be questions that you have already asked yourself if you are considering therapy. There are many factors that are important to consider when starting therapy, but the most important is the rapport you have with your therapist.

Research has shown that one of the most important and reliable predictors of change is the relationship between the client and the therapist. That’s why I encourage you, no matter what stage of change you may be at to come in and have a chat and together we can figure out if I’m the right fit for you.
